About Us

IMPORTANT INFORMTION - PRESCRIPTIONS

Please be advised that we will no longer email prescriptions to pharmacies. This was put in place as an interim measure during the COVID-19 pandemic to help maintain social distancing. Copies of prescriptions are not legally valid and there are potential issues around confidentiality, data protection and clinical error which can occur as a result of sending prescriptions in this way. Therefore, to minimise the risks, we will no longer do this routinely.

If you have been issued a prescription as part of a telephone consultation you will need to either collect it from the surgery in person, or it can be collected by your nominated pharmacy the next working day.

Please be reminded we do not take prescription requests over the telephone. You can order them via My Health Online, bring your repeat slip to the surgery post-box or take it to your community pharmacy.

You may need to allow up to 2 - 5 working days to receive your repeat medication depending on how you order and collect your prescriptions. If your request is urgent the quickest way to receive your repeat prescription (within 48 hours) is to order via My Health Online and collect the completed prescription directly from the surgery.

COVID 19

Now restrictions have eased we have increased our face to face consultations, however to protect our vulnerable patients we would request that anyone attending the practice wear a face covering. Please do not come to the practice if you are experiencing any COVID symptoms.

Appointments

We operate book on the day appointments between 8am and 10am Monday to Friday. These appointments can be telephone or face to face consultations, these are allocated appropriately depending on symptoms during the booking process.

Patients are required to telephone the surgery before 10am in order to be directed to the most appropriate care provider. Please note that between 8-8.30am the phone lines are particularly busy and you may need to ring a number of times during this period before being connected to a receptionist - please be patient.

Zero Tolerance of Abuse

The Practice takes it very seriously if a member of staff or one of the doctors or nursing team is treated in an abusive or violent way.

The Practice supports the government's 'Zero Tolerance' campaign for Health Service Staff. This states that GPs and their staff have a right to care for others without fear of being attacked or abused. To successfully provide these services a mutual respect between all the staff and patients has to be in place. All our staff aim to be polite, helpful, and sensitive to all patients' individual needs and circumstances. They would respectfully remind patients that very often staff could be confronted with a multitude of varying and sometimes difficult tasks and situations, all at the same time. The staff understand that ill patients do not always act in a reasonable manner and will take this into consideration when trying to deal with a misunderstanding or complaint.

However, aggressive behaviour, be it violent or abusive, will not be tolerated and may result in you being removed from the Practice list and, in extreme cases, the Police being contacted.
