The "New Normal"

Monday 7th September 2020

We have had a few phone calls this morning asking when we are "returning to normal". We have spent many weeks preparing for a phased return to General Practice, but we will still not be reverting to pre-Covid times. Unfortunately, Covid19 remains, Public Health Wales show an increase in figures over the last 5 days, and this is something we are monitoring.

We want our staff and patients to feel as safe as possible entering the building, for work and for their appointments, therefore staffing the door and limiting the footfall in the practice will be of utmost importance to us.

Due to social distancing rules, it is very unlikely that we will ever return to the way we ran our surgery previously and this may become the "new normal" for the foreseeable future. Patients are able to contact the surgery by telephone for a consultation with the most appropriate care provider, whether that be Doctor, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Pharmacist, Nurse, HCA or Phlebotomist.

The receptionist will continue to take brief details and you will be booked in with the appropriate person. If it is thought that a Doctor is the person most relevant then your name and details will go on their list and they will ring you for a consultation and if needed call you into a face-to-face appointment.

Thank you for all your continued support and helping us to help you stay safe!
